hello, again.

raaaah, haven't been able to blog in forever; i'm sorry!  been to california whilst i've been away and visited the yankee candle shops out there far too many times!  8)  which does, however, mean lots of scents and new candles to share with you which is good news!

car jars.

always like to have an air-freshener in my car, and since my last one ran out i haven't got around to getting another one.  so i've started looking around- i want a yummy flavour to fill my nose whilst driving to friend's houses, work, town etc.

as i love my yankee candle products, i've just been onto yankee direct and they have so many car air-freshener flavours to choose from!  do i go for vanilla cupcake, beach walk, coconut bay..?!  SO much choice!  there are also many, many types of fresheners to choose from!  from car jar ultimates to car vent sticks to travel tins. :-)

i'll let you know which one i choose and how i get on with it!

i'm back.

having had and been successful in an exam this morning, i am able to get back to doing a bit more blogging again!

have definitely missed not being able to blog as much as usual on candles and other such things which take my fancy, however, hard work paying off is such a good feeling!  my best tip of the day is that if you're feeling slightly disillusioned at the thought of doing any more revision/work towards say an exam or test.. try and push through that feeling- you'll kick yourself more knowing you hadn't done everything you could of.

just sharing a picture of my new purchases from the weekend -it's taken me ages to get around to putting this up, sorry!

the purchases obviously included a little candle, this time kitchen spice, which has such a deep, rich scent to it! completely reminded me of the oranges you make at christmas that have the cloves in -a real autumn/winter candle! gives off the real impression you are in the kitchen baking, so the name of this candle is pretty much perfect!

my other spends include a peplum top, a floaty, silk number, two chunky, gold necklaces and a cute essie nail polish!

I've wanted a peplum top for ages, as love the shape they have to them, and think they dress up a pair of jeans for an evening out perfectly!  i purchased mine from miss selfridge -an old favorite!

the necklaces are from h&m -not the usual place i would go for jewellery, however, i'm glad i did this time! having scoured the shops for a while now to find some new necklaces, there has been nothing which i absolutely love -until now! i'm wearing the leaf necklace today, which is dressing up my work outfit and simulating autumn all at the same time! :-)

finally- the nail polish. i first saw essie on lauren conrad's instagram, so decided to pop out and get myself some. the first essie i purchased was a turquoise colour (called turquoise & caicos) and the first time i put it on it lasted well over a week! not chipping/smudging your nails after painting is the most difficult thing, so i was definitely impressed with the make. this purpley-dark brown colour is my next purchase, and is just the colour i've been looking for, for a while now! it's called wicked, and i'll update you as to how it looks soon!

they give off a bright, shimmery light and are just quite sweet!  i've found some similar on amazon > here for you people who want to invest too :-)

creamy caramel.

just thought i would share my creamy caramel candle with the world :-)  it has the nicest aroma of caramel even with the lid on, and when it's not lit!

this candle really lives up to what it says on the tin; you could not match that gorgeous caramel scent much better if you tried!

i've placed this medium jar right next to my vanilla cupcake house-warmer; it really does smell like a bakery in my room!

these two are probably my all-time favourites, and i would definitely recommend giving them a try :-)  & especially on these autumn days where the evenings are drawing in, it nice to have a couple candles lit to add a bit of warmth to the room.

okay, so here are my sisters purchases from the other day.. clearly not just me who is obsessed with new candles and new smells!

we have tea-lights, small jars, wax tarts and samplers here!  she'll have hours of gorgeous-smelling burning with this little lot!

what a load of tarts..

black cherry, vanilla lime, mango peach salsa & honey and spice.  yum.  went a bit crazy with the tart buying as i just couldn't choose between all of these amazing flavours!

i'm currently burning the black cherry tart which smells gorgeous!  if you love rich, strong scents, tarts are perfect!  if you like more subtle smells, however, these might not be for you.

can't wait to burn the rest of these cute, little tarts in my new tart burner!  pictures to come.

NB: these wax tarts are purely wax and don't have wicks, so you need a tart burner before you buy!  good news though - there are loads of pretty ones out there!

i've got a lovely bunch of coconuts.

i've just seen yankee candles have brought out a coconut collection!  this will particularly please my boyfriend as coconut is one of his favorite scents and we haven't been able to find any coconut yankees up until this point!

reed diffusers, tea-lights and large & small tumblers!  these are limited edition so look slightly different from the normal style jars, but look simple, refined and quite fresh.

a particularly scrummy flavor which i just must try is the No5 scent.  this one is a coconut and vanilla bean candle and sounds just divine!  kinda expecting big things from this collection, and i'm sure it will live up to it!

i just love warm, rich-scented candles, and especially love having them in my room, flickering away.  really does give the homely, cosy feel.

let me know if you've tried any of these ones & once i purchase some for myself i will be blogging!

there not a lot to not love about this little candle!  i personally went for the small jar, as i have a feeling a house-warmer may be a little over-powering and a bit too sweet.  the small jar, however, is just right!  

this jar last for around twenty-five to forty hours so this give you a good chance and a good couple evenings of burning for you to make-up your mind on the aroma!

if you love creamy icing, sweet & fruity aromas, this one is perfect! 

NB: if you love the vanilla cupcake candle, this would be a good choice for your next candle purchase! :)

so i tried the red velvet cupcake the other day, not quite as spectacular as i was hoping :( apparently it wasn't as good as those they sell in the US, so naturally i'm going to HAVE to hop on a plane just to try these!  8)  well if needs must..!

here's a quick snap of a couple of my candles this evening!  enough?!  no way ;-)

we've got a baby sicilian lemon, a baby vanilla cupcake & a spiced orange tumbler here, to name a few!

they smell divine and really add a lovely atmosphere to my room.  love.

listening to chelsea williams & lighting my new sicilian lemon candle is the perfect way to chill out on this sunday afternoon, before having to think about the working week ahead.  

listening to chelsea completely takes me back to my road-trip around america and especially the couple days we spent in LA & santa monic, and the candle reminds me of all the cute little shops we visited which all smelt like gorgeous bakery's (mainly because the shops were full of candles - maybe this is where the obsession began?!).

normally you might have thought they would have made this lemon candle unbelievably sweet; this one is surprisingly refreshing though!  makes a change from the heavy, too-sweet lemon aroma's you normally come across!  it also goes perfectly in my room, and is another small jar to add to my collection.  these are the cute ones!

i got this one from clinton's in festival place, basingstoke, however, there are many, many more places to buy these online.  as i've said before, these are cute and make a perfect present and (more importantly ;-) ) a treat to yourself!

if you love sweet things, marshmallows, highly fragranced candles, this one's for you..!

i had been looking out for these candles for ages, ever since my sister had mentioned them, and it turned out they could be found in morrisons and hawkins bazaar (of all places)!  they are cute and do keep their aroma quite well, which is great because it's such a great scent.  

try the bigger version shown below for an even longer lasting candle!  one draw back of the larger jar, however, is that it does get kinda hard to light toward the end (which isn't for ages, but still)!  try investing in some long stemmed matches for full use of the taller addition!

NB: if you like these candles try out the jelly belly car air fresheners; strong & sumptuous!

this is one i got my mum for her birthday back in august.  she absolutely loves strong aromas with hints of cloves and spices, so this was a perfect choice.  her favorite hand massage bar is, for example, this little beauty from lush - wiccy magic muscles massage bar, which actually includes cinnamon leaf oil.

the little jars are such a cute gift as well; just right if you're aiming to purchase a selection of goodies for your friends or loved ones.

the small jar is sat on our landing at the moment and one, fits perfectly with the decor and on our wooden bookshelf and two, smells gorgeous!
